Has there been any canadians that have transfered from cis football to a university in the U.S, division 1? Does it rarely happen? Is it a good move to do, or shoudl you just stick to playing CIS? Just an interesting topic here.

Most of the time when a Canadian goes south in a post-secondary circumstance it will usually be a Junior or Cégep player. I would say there is a much stronger trend going in the other direction. Canadian kids who choose NCAA right out of high school come back to play in the CIS.

Johnson...the only guy I have ever heard of is Jerome Pathon.  BC guy that went to Acadia, CIS Rookie of the year as a WR.  Put together a game film and sent it to NCAA schools.  Only U of Washington offered him.  He had to sit out year (CIS to NCAA), but from what I remember I think he led the NCAA in yards per reception.  Drafted by Indy in 98 draft 32nd overall.

Old thread rehashed!
Courtney Stephan did that. Played at Wilfried Laurier and went to to Northern Illinois to play NCAA.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already.
