University of Calgary Dinosaurs football once again show they have fatal flaws in picking and recruiting players who can play in big games as they completely blow & get blown out in the Hardy Cup 42-18 at their home field to Saskatchewan Huskies who played better and grittier.

Dinos pick too many players who are front runners obviously and cannot handle adversity and fight back from it. They just give up. That is what front runners do when all they have done is play for loaded high school teams and get confronted with a less skilled opponent who want it more. No grit. Another choke for Coach Harris.

Calgary loses 43-18 on home turf at McMahon. 7 turnovers for the Dinos (4 INT, 3 Lost Fumbles). This team will never be able to get over the hump. One and Done in 2018

It was going to catch up to the Dinos
Offence passing has record breaking year. Impressive. Not

All that means you put all your apples in one basket.

Dinos  passed so much they ignored the running game.

Easy to defend the team when you know they are so lobsided. During the regular season when they were easily winning in the second half they are still throwing? Never going to grow your run game that way!

They should have watched the tape the year the patriots Brady threw almost every down. Impressive till the giants shut down the passing game!

Dinos next year try to have 1/2 passing 1/2 rushing. A win is a win by 1 TD or 4 TD. Try to have 200 yds passing 200 yds rushing per game. You’ll still win!

But now balanced

The frontrunners comment is valid. Whenever Dinos need to suck it up they never can.
Why do you want players who have hardly never lost and have no idea how to fight back and dig down deep? They never pulled an upset themselves.
This is EXACTLY why smart coaches in College and Pro's don't just look at good teams and sign players from those, you have no idea if they can perform under difficult circumstances because they have never done it. Never. They just did their job, not rose above it.
This is why a SMART USports coach looks for players on every high school team and not just the usual. That is lazy and it shows. But they think it is smart.

This happened in the U18 Canada Cup too, the coddles boy All-Stars got beaten by a MUCH MORE MOTIVATED but less skilled team from Saskatchewan.

Well Coach Harris - it just BLEW UP in your face again today. BOOM !!!!!!!

Sask winning wasn't really an upset the way they won is what is shocking.  I saw Sask play one game live.  They are a very good team. Great running back in Chow they #1 back.  Also Machart, and Klassen are good runners also.  Their QB Siemens is very good.  Sask will be a bigger challenge then the Dinos.  The Dinos are one-dimensional pass pass pass.  Western would have shredded that Calgary Dline with the run.  Sask is way more balanced attack run and pass.  It will be a tough game for Western but they should win it. Until Calgary gets a balanced attack they will not go anywhere.  Calgary lost most of their DLINE and OLiNE this year.  No way they were as strong as last years team. All the hype was just that.   I knew come playoff time they that it would be the end of them.  You can't just pass, no way!!!.

no toughness to win, run up scores on everyone all year for what? Scored 200 points more than some teams for what? That is not the end goal. Saskatchewan was 5-3 and played more balanced football with more motivated players. Throwing it long all the time is bad football no matter what level it is. You will be stopped come playoff time.

Calgary player blatantly ran into the kicker at end of the game a melee occurred. Players were jostling. This happened probably because Sask was paying them back by running up the score.  Calgary should have been better than that, no excuse for taking out a helpless kicker. If you dish it out you have to accept it back.

Some posts look like a hidden agenda. Some infighting in Calgary. Looks like some mamas boys are hard up for being overlooked. Get over it. Football was never in the cards

As for the Dinos
Players  ✔️ look at the number of all stars
Passing game ✅ proven but you kept passing?
Defence was ok
Balanced O failure
Offensive coordinator then a failure

.Huh?? How can you not see this unbalance 3-4 games into the season?Huh How could you not work on the running game, when you were blowing teams out?Huh?

At least you passed enough to give awards to your QB your rookie wr. Maybe you can all take turns having the plaques at home!

Makes zero sense
Unbalanced, no rushing game all year. Not even attempting to establish a run game

First on the chopping block?

When you ask the QB to win every single game u r just asking for trouble. When you throw that much to your rookie receiver it is only a matter of time till he sh1ts his diaper.

Wonder what kind of back bedroom promises had to be made to dad to get both his sons. You must throw to both of my kids 20 times a game. Yep 1 should be 5th string but he’s playing

How many flunk out or get cut by April

My count.....35 players

Will never be a cohesive group if 1 year and done chopping block Dinos

the Dinos have shown no ability to fight back from adversity for years, quite the opposite, if you don't think the fact many players they have never had to do it almost never in their football lives has nothing to do with it then you don't know why Saskatchewan won

I'm torn by this result; on one hand, I REALLY wanted Western to get the Dinos for a "revenge of 2013" game...but, at the same time, I have a soft-spot for Saskatchewan football and it's great to see the Huskies win the CW after a long, long drought for this once-proud program.

Hopefully Western will be able to topple this gritty team to set up the rematch vs Laval for the Vanier!  GO STANGS!!

Will Dinos finally understand they need to grow and develop the existing players or keep chopping heads bc they saw an awesome high school hudl film.

Take Sask Chow, a  Calgary recruit who if played for the Dinos would have been cut 2 yrs ago after having an off year and never a great player. Who grew in sask and destroys Dinos D

Player development Dinos is the key. Having 25 yr old starters is the key not 18 yr old rookies

So funny 24 25 yr olds still playing University football. Still thinking they are good thumping on some 18 yr old.

At 24 I’ll be looking back at the rear view mirror of my Ferrari waving bye to you 25 yr olds running around in your football tights.

Fckn loooooosers.

Btw 20 yr old rookies are a joke as well

I have seen Chow play, he is a really good player.  Didn't know Calgary had recruited him.

Dinos are such a young team. Only 3 x5 yr players

Almost half the team are rookies and majority under 3 yrs and QB back again!

If Dinos ever gel this team, stop spitting them out. They will win in 2-3 yrs.

You are right they are a young team. They will get better, that is for sure.  However, the other teams don't stand still either and they will improve also.  Calgary has to start by getting a run game until then they are going nowhere, even in 2 or 3 years time.

the Dinos are young every year unless they are older, then the young drop out of school or get replaced, (forgot that part) , then they are middle-aged, then the sky turns bright purple on your planet, then the Dinos choke again the next year
then every other Canada West team would take 8-0, except the Saskatchewan Huskies, but everyone else after that, but we had some injuries today and made a couple of mistakes like 7 turnovers
but we will get them next year, especially that Laval who we have never beaten, but this is part of the master plan to beat them next year or the year after at the latest
repeat after next choke
