The top Div1 players are realizing playing Midget does not do anything for development. Playing with crap Div 2/3 players does not help. Kids can’t catch kids can’t cover WRs kids can’t block the DE Div3 passrusher  lol Div2/3 players are terrible.

Instead go to camps run be professionals and workout.

Midget is for Div2/3. Go learn how to play. Maybe one day transfer to a Div 1 school

University scouts go to Midget games, Mr Midget Hater "go to a camp" guy.
It's not remotely the same but here you go once again.
A 2 day camp in Canada or a $2500 4 day camp in the US don't do much for the longer term.

So i'm trying to understand this Logic of not playing midget football.....   If your logic is to weight train etc,  and not get more reps at practicing football , then  why is NOT the Midget  AAA  hockey players adopting this philosophy of less reps is Better !!!!    Surely Midget AAA  hockey players don't need to be on the Ice 4-5 times a week,  Starting  Late August , ending in April  ,  then attending additional camps in the Spring and summer.....   Maybe perhaps you need to educate the hockey folks that less reps at something is going to further develop your skills   !!!!!

You'll notice that there is a subset of Calgary coaches who refuse to coach midget. Some that do give the excuse that its "worse football" and that's probably true, football as a whole is worse in midget than it is HS. But there's a reason for that- all of high school football talent goes to 3 high schools with little sprinkling elsewhere. Since midget forces play by territory the talent is distributed over 8 teams.

There are a bunch of div 1 coaches who are products of their players and not products of their coaching. Exhibit ABCDEFG are how terrible wisewood coaches look when they coach midget.

So these coaches like to come on and yell and scream about how bad every team is because they don't want to face the fact that they're team might be bad because they aren't making the right decisions as coaches. Some coaches have gotten so used to coaching Calgarys top talent that they forgot what its like to have to actually coach a kid over refine his skills.

I find it hilarious amusing sad that all these dads and div2/3 coaches think Div1 coaches especially from 3 schools have this magical spell persuasion over all the players.  Like football players are zombies and can’t make any decisions and the only decision is play for you chosen designated school and play Midget.

Fat fcks go get a life. Worry about your health not us. Fogget boy luvers

There is some very good Midget teams this year that would beat likely beat several Division 1 High School football teams. No way to prove that though other than to see the games & level of play.
Is the lower end of the league not so good? Yes. But it is impossible to tell how many players dropped out after such a crazy long delay to the season. Those teams spend four days a week trying to get better.

The Outliers book outlined the theory of the "10,000-Hour Rule", saying that the key to achieving world-class skill in sports, is, to a large extent, a matter of practicing the correct way, for a total of around 10,000 hours, innate athletic coordination is a bonus.

10,000 hours of reps related to the said sport or activity or cognitive challenge.

So football players missing all those reps makes them better players. Ok then, that is counter intuitive to any sort of real world logic.

But it is a football board with lots of goofy comments...

Wisewood coaches are gonna come on here and pretend as if they've never crossed ethical boundaries.

Theyre gonna come on here and pretend as if they never talk to the players and the players themselves decide to play for them.

As if certain wisewood coaches haven't been caught bribing players with material items and promises of making certain all-star teams.

Tell us more about ethical standards wisewood.

You might want to re-educate yourself Professor!

SOME EXCERPTS!

......But a new Princeton study tears that theory down.

In sports, an 18% difference

Also it talks about not needing to play games. Just working at the same intensity is equal.

Read between the lines = camps and working out

Next smart arse please step up or professional horse manure shoveler

Perfect timing. The professional manure shovel appears. Where in the last few points was WW ever mentioned? You just guess it has been 1/2 a day since the last attack.

If you think other school/ coaches no not bribe players with caps/hoodies and promises of stardom you are also eating that sh1t.

You can’t that be close minded and gullible. Well maybe you are

So by these moron posters, any parents out there can tell their kids to STOP doing HOMEWORK because studying & practicing will not make you any better the particular subject.
Those poor parents who had their garage doors dented from thousands of pucks shot at the garage by their sons that are now in the NHL.

dumb & silly comments abound

The Princeton study means. And by the way I heard Princeton is a good school. You do not have to play you can do something equal to and do it with the same intensity and be as successful

Take your examples.
Physics can actually make you better in Math. Chemistry can actually help you in Bio.

In sports lacrosse can actually help you in hockey ( it worked for this average player named, Gretzky) . Lifting weights helps you in sprints ( worked for this Bolt guy) . Basketball can help you in football ( worked for these no names Gates and Peppers)

Now I know this is a lot to take in and I expect a dumb silly comment from you. But your lack of a high school education shows

Now there is one particular sentence that is very very important, can you pick it out. Oops I forgot who I was reply to.  Never mind go back to angry birds

Have fun

Football practice with good to great coaches makes you a better football player.
There is a reason in Pro Football including CFL & NFL that the starters, especially the Quarterback, get all the repetitions
Football is dependent on repeated multiple repetitions because it is unique in having 11 or 12 players on the field who all have an assignment for specific diagrammed plays dependent on timing and precise execution. No other sport is as reliant on this strategy.
In addition, the assignments for the many plays in the team Playbook must become a must know for all on the team.
There is no argument to counter this. Any additional fitness or weight training will make a player better than they are.

The only conclusion is that you are a troll who knows little to nothing about the sport.

I’m sorry Facter. Yes you know better than these QBs.
Elway
Marino
Brady
Wilson

Please identify to us all who you are
Montana
Manning
Maybe Fabre?

Please tell us how you played Midget Football never missed a practice took lots of reps and made NFL and finished as a hall of famer

Tell us how guys who only played high school football and decided in the offseason to only bail hay or help his brick layer dad or did shot put or ran around the neighbourhood till the sun went down were just plain lucky to make the NFL and become a hall of famer

We await again a rebuttal

Yes playing Calgary Midget makes you the best football player in Calgary

I think alot of people forgot that in Calgary HS football you only play  6 League Games , compared to a typical American high school player who plays between 10 - 13 League games in the fall !!!!   American high schools plays double the amount of games than in Calgary....  Hence the establishment of Calgary Spring football to give high school players an opportunity to play another 6 League games  to match what a typical american teenager plays.....   So in the US they don't need an additional spring football league which is why they play baseball, basketball , track etc......

What trolls forget to realize.
- before Midget league ever existed quite a few Calgary players have had great careers after high school
-since the league started. Lots of players who played Midget had success after high school. Many more have had zero success after high school
-since the league started. Several players have had success after high school and never ever playing Midget. Many more have had zero success

What you trollers get out of this.

Stop pushing your own agenda! It does not matter if you play or not play. It’s just an option, just like camps, weight training, u18

There is no manic formula!
