Does this team still exist?  Rumors are out there that the fired their HC, and then the entire coaching staff and roster walked out on the executive in the meeting explaining it.

Can anyone shed any light on what's going on?

From Colts website

Coaching Changes -

Effective September 11, 2017, Calgary Colts Head Coach, Matthew “Snoop” Blokker, tendered his resignation to the team. Coach Snoop cited “personal reasons” for his departure and the Colts Board of Directors have accepted his resignation.

An event such as this causes several levels of anxiety for the football team; the players, remaining Coaches, parents, team sponsors, the PFC, and the CJFL in which the Colts play. On behalf of the Colts Board of Directors, I want to assure all interested parties that the Colts remain committed to a successful 2017 season and have asked Assistant Head Coach, Tim Kearse, to assume the Head Coaching duties on an interim basis for the balance of the season. Coach Kearse is a former player in the NFL and the CFL with coaching experience at the professional level and the Board has full confidence in his ability to lead this team. The remaining position Coaches are also devoted to the Calgary Colts and we will support them in every way possible.

To the players, parents and team sponsors, please rest assured that the Colts are financially sustainable and have a renewed relationship with the Calgary Stampeders which will support the team in many ways going forward. In the 53 year history of the Calgary Colts, we have faced many obstacles but the underlying point of the organization was always to provide young men the opportunity to play football at a high level. So on behalf of Keith Evans (General Manager for 53 years) and the rest of the Board of Directors, we reaffirm our commitment to the players, Coaches and the football operations staff.

Snoop is not the type of person to ever quit on a team. His hand was forced and you can tell that by most (all but 4) of his coaches walking away.

Scratch, TK, Jim and Dan Craig were the only ones who stayed.

Does anybody have any insight into what prompted this?

I had heard something about Snoop voluntarily taking a pay cut this season, I don't know how accurate that was or if it played into this.

It is not voluntary if the team fails to pay you what you are owed at the end of the season. Someone needs to step in and fix the issues with that club.

If they are financially stable, why could they not pay the HC. There is something else going on or someone is lyin

Colts better make the situation crystal clear what happened to HC or else you will see an exodus of players and no one new will want to join

There are rumours out there about the Colts, again they're rumours, but they lost all funding from he Stamps because of some issues with 50/50 money being "misplaced" last season.

There's also the rumour that the HC signed a non-disclosure so neither side can talk about it.  That seems pretty odd for a simple HC stepping down.

Definition of Non-Disclosure

"trust us, nothing really happened, all is Okie Dokie"

In the recent years, good CJFL players have decided to leave their home province of Alberta to play in Sask & BC.

This does not help the situation. You are better to explain what happened. Not the exact details but explain. My initial thoughts. There is something fishy about this topic!
