Michael Chris-Ike and Jean Paul Cimankinda both look very good but whenever I watch highlights on running backs I am usually more disgusted with the defense than I am impressed with the offense.  This presents a big problem for running backs trying to get the attention of bigger schools south of the border.  The competition level on some of these highlights is pretty dodgy.  I think it is easier for an elite level receiver (a great catch is a great catch) or a massive offensive lineman (6'7" is impressive where ever you're from.)  Quarterbacks and running backs have to be good enough for college coaches to stop paying attention to terrible tackling, awful pursuit angles and shoddy defense that some of these guys play against.

If I was to pick a kid from the group (including Chris-Ike and Cimankinda) I think I'd go with Hubbard out of Sherwood Park, Alberta. Not many people outside of Alberta know who he is.  He competed in the 2015 World Junior Track Championships and ran a 10.55 in the 100m - finishing fourth (second in his age group, first from North America.)  Fast is fast and I will guarantee that every NCAA track coach (and many football coaches) know who he is.  Problem is - he plays in a pretty weak Edmonton league and his game film looks silly.  Just 75 yard fun after 75 yard run against some bad defenses.  In 12 games he rushed for more than 3000 yards and nearly 40 touchdowns.

I am not familiar with Hubbard, but J.P. rushed for very close stats, in a tough OVFL league. In the finals he played a great defensive squad and still had crazy stats, plus lead his team to the win. What I can say about Hubbard is running track and just being able to run fast is not enough in football. It takes lateral quickness and a lot of strength to be a great running back, not to mention down field vision. Like I had already said I am not familiar with him, but I will say this about a fast kid trying to play rb. If he actually does have the other necesssary skills than running fast is an added bonus that will have him untouched in most games especially with that kind of world class speed.

It is true that Hubbard faced some dud defenses in the regular season but he got nearly 300 yards in a playoff game against Top Ten nationally ranked Notre Dame in a playoff loss. ND features OSU recruit and No5 ranked linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga and a number of Calgary All-Stars.  On one memorable play Hubbard absolutely trucked Ogbongbemiga.  He's tough!  Only knock on him in my opinion is that he is not a reliable receiver.

How does J.P. compare to Jevante Stanley or Brandon Metz? I only watched them at the Canada Cup.

Jaden Bailey - RB St. Mike's.  Tore it up at the Metro Bowl in December.  Not sure if he is 2017 or 2018 though.  Must of had over 300 yards at that game, and 4 TD's.

He is class of 2018.

I would like to see the same thing done for 2017 defence.
